Get Lucky in Pickleball

Until now: Its a crapshoot

"It's a crapshoot" comes from the gambling game craps, a dice game that dates back centuries and became especially popular in the United States during the 19th century.

In craps, the roll of the dice could dramatically change fortunes in an instant. Because the dice are random, many people came to associate the game with chance and uncertainty.

But that's what normally happens when you play pickleball. You show up, spin the wheel of luck, and find out which version of you showed up today.

Sometimes your best game is there, at least for a while. Other

times not so good. You do your best to get rest, eat right, practice in advance, but there are no guarantees.

What is luck anyway?

The Experience of FMF

What most people call luck is just a situation where things seem to go their way. You've already had this experience now and then. But what the Fluid Motion Factor is all about is to create an experience where you simply lucky more of the time. In fact it is a completly diffferent approach to playing picklball, and a different inner experience.

Most players are alert, engaged, intensely focussed and determined to win.

The FMF player has a sort of serenity and calm. Their body seems to play effectively without a lot of fuss. They sometimes hit shots that seem uncanny and amazing. And they ARE literally uncanny, because uncanny means "not conscious." Unconscious play is often praised. But it's actually more conscious, and less thinking.

When most players get praise for their play, they feel good because their ego-driven intent worked out. Their ego was on the line, and things worked out (this time).

The FMF player is curiously calm and disconnected from such praise and adulation. People can be amazed, and they often are, because when you are playing in an FMF state, you will often  hit shots that are simply amazing. But you don't feel like you (your ego) did it.

Some people may miss the ego gratification. Others will enjoy the frictionless flow of excellence and calm.

It's actually amazing
