Player Types

Are you in a pickle?
Most pickleball players don’t get stuck because they lack talent, effort, or desire. They get stuck because they fall into a familiar player pattern under pressure.
Some players think too much. Some rush. Some choke when the score gets tight. Some try to fix every stroke in the middle of a point. Some worry too much about their partner, get angry after mistakes, play too carefully, or compete with so much tension that their natural game disappears.
In other words, they’re in a pickle.
Below, you’ll find the eight common player patterns we see again and again: The Overthinker, The Rusher, The Choker, The Technical Fixer, The Partner Pleaser, The Angry Player, The Careful Player, and The Tight Competitor. Each one has a different surface problem, but they all point to the same deeper issue: the mind is interfering with the body’s ability to play freely.
Maybe you have one (or more) of these patterns sound like you. If so, take our quiz to be sure and we'll send you some Fluid Motion Factor insights on how to address your exact situation.
