Incremental Growth

As we described in our book, the changes to your game from reading the book are not instantaneous and permanent. Yes, there can be immediate remarkable results using soft eyes (see Amazon review) and other techniques that the book preents, and yes it can improve things right away in terms of attitude, calm, and effectiveness.

But Rome wasn't destroyed in a day.

The gung-ho habits of intense focus, results based engagement, attachment, mental override, increasing urgency mid-point, etc. don't go away automatically.  That's why we call this a journey. You will get pulled out into planning, the emergency mindset and self judgment over and over again. But when that happens, when you are pulled out of Fluid Motion, when you miss... you will start lettin go of shot analysis and (sometimes bitter) self-criticism, and simply note.... "Oh, I got pulled out of my Fluid Motion state."

But over time, your new focus becomes stronger, and eventually it is the dominant pattern, the stronger modus operandi. In fact, you will begin enjoying pickleball so much more, that you will really miss it when you step out of Fluid Motion.
